Reparenting Playground

This Work Changed My Life. That’s Why I’m Sharing It.

Hi, I’m Bonnie Mio. I’m a Reparenting Guide & Facilitator. I help people build a steady, caring connection with themselves and grow the skills for healthier relationships. My work draws on decades of meditation, Nonviolent Communication, and inquiry, as well as more than 10 years of daily reparenting practice. I’ve taught thousands of people and created widely used tools, including a check-in practice that’s now shared around the world.

Testimonials

Laura Green

Bonnie’s workshop was a turning point in my life. For the first time, I heard the voice of my inner loving parent through her reparenting exercise.

This practice connected me to a loving inner guide that helped heal deep-seated grief and trauma I’d carried for years. Bonnie’s work has been transformative, leading to profound growth and spiritual awakening.

I can confidently say that her workshop and the tools she provided have been instrumental in my healing journey and have had a positive impact on countless lives.

Bonnie is a rare mix of warm empathy combined with direct and honest communication. She uses her years of committed study of NVC, “the work “, meditation, and other practice areas to improve the lives of her clients in the world. I have always found her insights to be accurate, useful, and compassionate.

Phyllis Sharlin, Retired LCSW

Bonnie is one of the kindest, most intelligent, and skillful women I know. Her deep listening and highly developed mindfulness skills make her an excellent workshop facilitator. With 29 years of successful relationship experience, Bonnie is a terrific choice for relationship coaching. I highly recommend her!

I created Reparenting Playground to offer a supportive, dynamic space where people can learn to recognize and tend to emotional gaps and underdeveloped life skills from childhood—things like setting boundaries, expressing needs, and identifying and feeling their emotions in healthy ways.

Through practical tools, experiential learning, one-on-one guidance, and relational group work, I guide people in showing up for themselves with more clarity, connection, and self-trust. I help them build a solid, caring relationship with themselves—one they can count on no matter what life brings.

I know what it’s like to treat yourself like a lifelong self-improvement project, believing that if you could just be “better,” you’d finally feel better about yourself. What I’ve learned (and now share) is that the real shift comes from self-love and self-compassion—learning, as my mentor says, to "love yourself back to life."

I bring years of meditation practice and teaching, along with group, workshop, and one-on-one facilitation in reparenting, nonviolent communication, and inquiry—combined with a lived understanding of what it takes to move from self-abandonment to showing up for yourself every day.
